How did Buffed Wear come about?
David Patterson, aka Dr. Buff, had the idea of starting his own clothing line over 25 years ago. But with raising a family, going to school full-time, opening up his gyms, doing corporate fitness, competition training for so many others, and competing himself multiple times a year, there just wasn’t enough time to start another venture.
With the nickname “Dr. Buff”, which he’s had for over 30 years, the thought of starting a clothing line way back then and calling it “BuffedWear”, seemed only natural. The vision was there. It was just a matter of time to put a plan-of-action into play.
In 2012, after 30 years of competition, he decided to retire (for the first time…). That’s when he thought “Now is as good a time as any to start the t-shirt business”. That Monday immediately after his last show, the 2012 Emerald Cup, he purchased his transfer machine, ordered out his first set of transfer quotes and designs, and the rest, as they say, is history.
What started out with one of his original quotes, one design, and one black t-shirt, as that’s all he was able to afford, BuffedWear currently carries over 75 sayings and quotes, over 25 designs, and more shirts and hoodies than you can shake a stick at.
Thank you for your continued support of the Buffed Wear Clothing line. Enjoy shopping!
